Meet The Leaders

Peter Smith: Peter started the Hizkidz club in Netherthird with Gillian way back in 2000. Peter has been involved with children’s work for about 18 years; running Hizkidz, teaching in Sunday school, taking school  assemblies, and planning and running holiday clubs. He is married to Gillian and they have three children and two grandchildren.

 

 

 

Gillian Smith: Gillian started the Hizkidz club in Netherthird with Peter.  Gillian has been involved with children’s work for about 26 years; running Hizkidz, teaching in Sunday school, taking school assemblies, planning and running holiday clubs, and training other children’s workers. She is a qualified Nursery Nurse, and works at a nursery full-time as well as being a full-time mum and gran.

 

 

Dean Plenderleith: Dean is our oldest Hizkidz, joining the club when he was about 7. When it was time for him to go to secondary school he stayed on with us to become a junior leader and then a leader. Dean has been a great help as a leader doing kid’s clubs , and holiday clubs with us. He is studying at Kilmarnock College at the moment.

 

 

 

CarlyAnne Cree: CarlyAnne is another of our Hizkidz, who stayed on with us  when it was time for her to go to secondary school. She is one of our junior leaders and helps with the kid’s clubs, and holiday clubs. She is at secondary school where she is involved in many activities including drama and playing in the school band.. CarlyAnne also helps out with Sunday school at the church she attends.

 

 

Dempster Slimmon: Dempster has also stayed on with to become one of our junior leaders and helps with the kid’s clubs, Dempster is at secondary school where he enjoys music and drama. He is also involved with a local amateur dramatic group and has appeared in several productions.

 

 

 

 

Christie Murdoch: Christie is our newest junior leader and has been helping out at Hizkidz for over a year now. Christie is great with the kids and is always cheerful. Christie  is at secondary school at the moment. I had better mention that Christie is mad about horses.
