Awesome–Week 4

We’re still in John’s Gospel and last night we read John 6:1-21, where Jesus, seeing that the people were hungry divided 5 loaves and 2 fish and fed 5,000 people and as if that wasn’t awesome enough he even took a stroll across a lake. Jesus knows about the ordinary things we need and He cares for us in practical ways

Jesus cares for us in ways that matter, that’s awesome.

No Hizkidz next week or following week (10th & 17th) because of February holiday.

We are continuing to read John’s Gospel and last night we read about “the man at the pool” in John 5:1-18. Jesus knows where we are, he knows exactly what we need and what’s best for us’

Jesus knows what’s best for us, that’s awesome.

We were looking at John’s Gospel again last night where Jesus’ performed his second miracle by healing the nobleman’s son. (John 2:1-11). We learned that Jesus has the power to heal just by saying the word..

Jesus can do the impossible, that’s awesome.

Hizkidz was awesome on Friday. Learning about an awesome God and His awesome Son, from His awesome Word. We read the story of Jesus turning the water into wine, from John 2:1-11. We learned that Jesus’ power is available for us in everyday situations.

Jesus has God’s power, that’s awesome.

Hizkidz starts next Friday (13th)

For the next 8 week we will have an AWESOME! programme for you.

We will learn about our AWESOME! God

We will read His AWESOME! Word

We will hear about some AWESOME! Miracles

And we’ll see some AWESOME! signs in John’s Gospel.

We look forward to seeing you all, Its going to be AWESOME!

Hizkidz Pirate Party

There will be no Hizkidz next Friday (14th) or the following Friday (21st) because of the October holiday. We will start back on Friday 28th of October.

On Saturday 29th of October from 1:00pm—3:00pm we will be having a “Pirate Party” in the Community Centre. If the kids could dress up as pirates, princesses, mermaids, etc. that would be great, and remember, NO Witches or anything scary.

Second Chance

Last night at Hizkidz we were learning how God gives us second chances. We have been using clips from the movie ‘Cars’ to illustrate the points we are trying to get across; but we also used a story about a boy who was given a second chance.

There is a story told about when Thomas Edison was working on his invention of a Light bulb. Apparently it took a whole team of people 24 hours to put together a Light bulb and when they had finished Thomas gave the Light bulb to a boy to carry upstairs. The boy carried the bulb very carefully but right at the top step he dropped the bulb. The team were disappointed but spent another 24 hours making another Light bulb.

When the next bulb was completed, Thomas called for the same boy to carry the bulb upstairs. This time the boy didn’t drop the bulb. Thomas Edison had given the boy a second chance.

The kids have been loving Gillian telling them the stories from the J1 programme which we are using. Here are a couple of pictures taken last night.

We done a kids club during the summer for my churches (New Life Prestwick) mission week and one of the things we learned was that with God beside us we need not fear and His perfect love inside us actually drives out fear. Here is a song we sang a few times that week. Hope you like it
